SYMPTOMS

Internal testing for Windows NT products includes using automated tests designed to push the system beyond its normal limits. These bugs often can only be reliably reproduced using internal tools. Identifying the symptoms often requires using the debugger.

Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5 and later includes fixes to the following binaries for these types of bugs:

Ntoskrnl.exe

Ntkrnlmp.exe

Ntfs.sys

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT 4.0. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5.
