Seven Fonts Not Supporting the Euro Currency Symbol

SYMPTOMS

Seven different fonts may not display or print correctly using the new euro currency symbol after you apply the hotfix located at:

The affected fonts are:
  • Arial Black


  • Comic Sans MS


  • Impact


  • Lucida Sans Unicode


  • Lucida Console


  • Tahoma


  • Verdana



CAUSE

This behavior occurs because these fonts were not mapped to the European currency symbol in previous service packs.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or the individual software update. For information on obtaining the latest service pack, please go to:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6.
