Winnt32.exe and Setupdd.sys Are Not Included with Downloadable Versions of SP4, SP5, and SP6

SYMPTOMS

Winnt32.exe and Setupdd.sys are not included with the downloadable versions of Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4, Service Pack 5, Service Pack 6, or Service Pack 6a. These files are only available on the CD-ROM.

RESOLUTION

These files are available for download from the following Internet location as Sp4exti.exe (x86) and Sp4exta.exe (Alpha):

ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/winnt/winnt-public/fixes/usa/nt40/ussp4/additional/

NOTE: Although SP4 is included in the title of the executable files, these files are for Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4, Service Pack 5, Service Pack 6, and Service Pack 6a.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4, Service Pack 5, Service Pack 6, and Service Pack 6a.
