Err Msg: The Share Name Contains Invalid Characters

SYMPTOMS

When you try to create a share, you may receive the following error message:

The share name contains invalid characters.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you use an invalid character in your share name.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, do not use any of the following characters in your share name:

" / \ [ ] : | < > + ; , ? * =
