SYMPTOMSWhen you start a computer with a large number of services installed, an access violation may occur in Mpr.dll during the boot procedure because of a lack of heap memory. CAUSEThis behavior may occur if Mpr.dll does not allocate memory for a control block. In such a case, Mpr.dll tries to free the control block with an incorrect pointer. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or
