NTVDM May Switch to Uppercase After Running a 32-Bit Program

SYMPTOMS

When a 16-bit MS-DOS-based program starts a 32-bit program and then returns to 16 bits, the keyboard may switch automatically from lowercase to uppercase.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6.
