Common Dialog Box Does Not Populate Drive Selection Box for 16-Bit Programs

SYMPTOMS

The Windows NT common dialog boxes for handling files may not display all the available drives in the Drive Selection box. This behavior occurs if there is no networking installed on the computer.


CAUSE

This issue is caused by a problem in the Comdlg32.dll file for common dialog boxes.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 service pack that contains this fix.
