SYMPTOMS

When you use Windows NT 4.0 Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS) as a Radius client on a Radius server running Microsoft Windows 2000 Internet Authentication Service (IAS), callback numbers assigned to a user in Windows NT 4.0 domains may not work.


CAUSE

This behavior occurs because an incompatibility exists between Windows NT 4.0 RRAS and Windows 2000 IAS.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or the individual software update. For information on obtaining the latest service pack, please go to:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT 4.0. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6.
