Stop 0x0000000A Error Message in the Tcpip.sys File on a Blue Screen Caused by Damaged or Invalid Packets

SYMPTOMS

When you use the CopyRcvToBuffer() function on a Multiprocessor File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server, you may receive a Stop 0x0000000A error message in the Tcpip.sys file on a blue screen.


CAUSE

This problem can occur if the CopyRcvToBuffer() function encountered an invalid or damaged packet.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0. For additional information, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT 4.0.

This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6.
