SYMPTOMSYou may receive the following error message on a blue screen in Windows NT Server 4.0: Note that not all "STOP 0x00000024" error messages are caused by the problem described in this article. Also, the parameters may vary depending on the system configuration. CAUSEThis error message can be caused by a synchronization problem in the NTFS file system that causes a pointer to be freed while it is still in use. RESOLUTIONA supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but
it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems
experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this
specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Windows NT 4.0 service pack
