FIX: HTML Help: CHM Problems on Removable Media Drives

• Microsoft HTML Help, versions 1.3, 1.0, 1.1, 1.2
  on the following platforms: WINDOWS

SYMPTOMS

When a CHM is on removable media, such as a CD-ROM or Iomega Jazz disk, but not a floppy disk, either of the following occurs:

• When you try to display a topic, the result is "Navigation Cancelled."



• The full-text search does not work. All searches result in "No Topics Found."

CAUSE

Both of these problems are caused by known bugs.

RESOLUTION

To resolve these problems, download the latest version of HTML Help from the following Web site:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/author/htmlhelp/download.asp

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. Both problems were corrected in version 1.22 of HTML Help.
