PRB: OSR2 Device Manager Driver Properties Display Incorrectly

SYMPTOMS

In Windows 95 OEM Service Release (OSR) version 2, Device Manager does not correctly display the properties for drivers.

RESOLUTION

As a workaround, the user can click the Driver File Details button on the Driver Properties page in order to view the correct Provider and Version for the driver.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

1. From Device Manager, select a device.



2. Click on "Properties.



3. Select the Driver tab, and note that the Provider and Version fields may incorrectly display "Not available."
