(16 Bit) Blank Screen Saver Listed Twice

ID: Q101219

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Windows NT 3.1
  • Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server, version 3.1

SUMMARY

If you upgrade from Microsoft Windows operating system version 3.1 or Microsoft Windows for Workgroups version 3.1 to Windows NT and include the previous operating system directory in the Windows NT path, you will see the (16 Bit) Blank Screen screen saver listed twice in the Desktop dialog box of Control Panel. This is because Windows NT keeps its own copy of BLACK16.SCR, identical to the Windows 3.1 version, to maintain compatibility with 16-Bit screen savers.
