SYMPTOMS
In Windows NT, if you minimize Terminal when you close it, incorrect
window coordinates (xposition, yposition, width, and height) are saved
to the Registry, which causes Terminal to be in a very small window
the next time you start it.
CAUSEIf Terminal is minimized when closed, instead of recording the window coordinates to the Registry, Terminal records the window coordinates of the minimized icon to the following keys:
The coordinates used the next time you start Terminal cause the
Terminal window to be displayed where the Terminal icon was displayed
at the last Terminal exit.
RESOLUTIONTo work around this problem, open Terminal before you exit so that correct coordinates are saved to the Registry. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.1 and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. Additional query words: prodnt
