  • Microsoft Windows NT 3.1
  • Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server, version 3.1

SYMPTOMS

When you install WordPerfect 6.0 for Windows on a DEC Alpha or MIPS R4000 computer the installation fails and the following error message appears:

Application Error: INSTALL caused an Illegal Instruction in module INSTALL.EXE at 0001:03E6."

CAUSE

When Windows NT runs on a RISC processor such as the DEC Alpha or MIPS R4000, 16-bit Windows emulation only supports standard mode.
