PRB: Push-Verify WMI Providers Are Not Currently Supported

SYMPTOMS

If you try to register a push-verify WMI provider, the registration will fail.

CAUSE

Support for push-verify providers is not currently implemented in WMI.

STATUS

Push-verify provider support will be implemented in a future version of WMI.

MORE INFORMATION

The WMI SDK documentation states that you can register a push-verify provider by setting InteractionType=2 in the object provider registration. However, if you try to set InteractionType=2, mofcomp displays the error:

0x80041012 Provider registration is not valid
