SYMPTOMSIn the following scenario, the Remote Access Server (RAS) client is running on Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 3 or later) and the RAS server is running on a non-Windows platform (for example, SCO UNIX). The phonebook entry is configured to use a RAS script for authenticating against the UNIX server. The application calls the RasDial API with this phonebook entry. If this application is run in its Release mode, then RasDial may return Error 629, ERROR_REMOTE_DISCONNECTION. CAUSEThis problem may be caused by an improper setting of the modem speed. RESOLUTIONThe possible solution for this error is to change the modem speed settings. There are two methods to change the modem speed settings:
