INFO: MMC Merging of Menus or Toolbars with ActiveX Control Views Is Not Supported

SUMMARY

When using an ActiveX control result view, the menus or toolbars of the control cannot be merged with the menus of the console. Microsoft Management Console (MMC) does not implement a fully compliant ActiveX control container, therefore the necessary features that provide this support, are not available.

MORE INFORMATION

MMC does support IOleInPlaceFrame::RequestBorderSpace. This should allow the ActiveX control to add a toolbar. However, this has not been tested. MMC makes no provision for the control to add buttons to existing toolbars.
