The Microsoft Windows Font Editor (FONTEDIT.EXE) does not allow creation of fonts in which the height or width of the font is greater than 64 pixels. This corresponds to a font-file size of approximately 115K. This is a limitation of the Font Editor, and not of the fonts themselves. There is no limit to the size of the font file in the font format. Font files created in the Windows version 2.0 font format cannot be larger than 64K. The Font Editor displays a message box containing one of these two errors if the entered Font Size Character Pixel Width or Character Pixel Height is larger than 64:
