SYMPTOMSThe following situation may occur when the CEPC is using an Ethernet debug connection: After a successful download of boot loader and Nk.bin from EShell, the system may freeze with a screen showing: NOTE: The address varies. The debugger may not receive a response from the serial ports or the Windows CE Debug Shell tool, Cesh.exe (CESH). The system may appear to be hung. CAUSEThe interrupt parameter on the Loadcepc.exe (LOADCEPC) command line is incorrect. Although the Nk.bin loader doesn't use the interrupt, Windows CE does. This problem also occurs on Plug and Play Ethernet cards, because the interrupt can change dynamically. RESOLUTION
Double-check your assigned interrupt number. Run a proprietary setup routine provided by your net card manufacturer to turn off Plug and Play, and manually set an unused interrupt number.
Failure to do this may result in the BIOS placing a Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) Plug and Play (PNP) device at the desired ISA IRQ. Also, ensure that no unexpected integrated peripherals [Universal Serial Bus (USB), infrared (IR), and so on] are enabled in your machine's BIOS.
