A template is a blueprint of your team solution that contains all of the information necessary to create a new team solution, including the database schema, Web pages, database roles, permissions, and offline publication information. You can designate whether it contains the existing data and whether existing user information is saved in the template.
With the Team Template wizard, you can create a team template from an existing solution. Using the Team Solutions Manager, you can import templates files to the template directory in the modSystem database. Template files can be distributed for use on other servers with Microsoft Access Workflow Designer server components installed.
Templates provide a quick way to create several customized solutions based on your original schema. For example, you can create an instance of the Issue Tracking solution, modify it to suit your requirements, and then save your changes as a new template. The new solution template is added to the template directory, so new instances of the solution can be created.
