Creating a Web using FrontPage

The team Web site hosts all the Web pages required for your user interface. When you register a team solution in Access Workflow Designer, you can designate the Web URL for the user interface. If the Web site does not already exist, the Database Registration wizard creates the site for you.

If you create a team solution based on a solution template, the New Team Solution wizard creates the Access data project and the Web site for you.

If you are not using a template or the Database Registration wizard, however, you must create a Web site for your solution. You can create a Web site using FrontPage.

To create a Web site using FrontPage

  1. Open FrontPage, and, from the File menu, point to New and then Web.

  2. Click Empty Web.

  3. In Options, specify a location for the new Web site in the following format:

    http://<ServerName>/<WebName>

  4. Click OK.

  5. After the Creating New Web dialog box is displayed, you can close FrontPage and use Access to create the data access pages.

Note   You can also create a new Web by importing an existing Web from your local computer, network, or the World Wide Web or by converting a folder to a Web. You can find more information on these topics in the FrontPage Help system.

After creating the Web site on the server, you can create your data access pages and save them to this Web site. For details, see Creating Data Access Pages.
