Viewing and Printing the Workflow

After you have added a workflow process to a table, you can view it and print it.

To open a workflow process

  1. Open your team solution in the Access Workflow Designer. For details, see Accessing Access Workflow Designer Tools.

  2. In the Object List, expand Workflow Processes by clicking the plus (+) sign.

  3. Select a workflow process from the list to display the workflow diagram.

Use the workflow diagram to do the following:

Changing the Look of the Diagram

If you want to change the look of the diagram, you can move the state boxes and action lines around.

To rearrange states

After rearranging the states, the diagram may become cluttered with overlapping lines or irregular spacing.

To clean up the diagram

  1. Right-click the diagram background.

    To rearrange only selected objects, drag to select a group of objects, and then right-click the group.

  2. From the shortcut menu, select Arrange Diagram, and select Horizontal or Vertical.

If your rearranging moved the diagram over to one side, you can quickly place it back in the center.

Zooming or Cropping the Diagram

If you want to zoom in to see more detail or zoom out to see the full diagram, you can enlarge the entire diagram or just a particular state.

To crop the diagram

  1. On the right side of the workflow diagram there is a vertical scroll bar. Next to that is a vertical bar separating the workflow diagram from the Actions for area. To adjust the width of the diagram area, drag this vertical bar.

  2. Right-click the diagram background, and select Zoom to fit.

Printing the Workflow Diagram

If you want to keep a hard copy of your workflow diagram for reference, you can print it.

To print the diagram

  1. Right-click the diagram background.

  2. From the shortcut menu, click Print Diagram.

  3. In the Print dialog box, click OK.

    The printer prints the entire diagram even if you have zoomed in or cropped your view by resizing the diagram pane.
