Platform SDK: Active Directory, ADSI, and Directory Services |
This tutorial assumes you are familiar with basic administrative tasks in Windows NT® or Windows® 2000, such as adding users and groups, starting and stopping services, or manipulating print jobs. Some knowledge of how Active Server Pages work is recommended if you plan to build web-based ADSI solutions. Knowing the basics of a scripting language like VBScript or JScript is also necessary. Tutorial examples are written in VBScript using the WinNT ADSI provider.
Some of the terms used in this tutorial are unique to the ADSI or directory services environments. Other terms will be familiar but may have slightly different meanings in these environments. For a list of ADSI terms and their definitions, see the Active Directory Glossary.
For further information about ADSI, consult Using ADSI and the ADSI Reference.
