Viewing the Raw Properties of an Exchange Object

You can see the raw properties of an Exchange object by using the Exchange Administrator program in raw mode.

To view an object's raw properties

  1. Highlight an object.
  2. On the File menu, click Raw Properties (or <SHIFT><ENTER>). A dialog box is launched.

On the left side of this dialog is a list of attributes for this directory object. You can use the "List Attributes of Type" combo box to filter attributes from the list of attributes.

The "Existing" filter creates a filter to only show attributes that currently have a value.

The "All" filter will show all attributes.

The right side of the dialog contains detailed information about the attribute selected in the list box on the left. The information displayed includes the attribute definition and the value or values of the attribute for the current object.

WARNING  Using the raw mode of the Exchange Server Administrator program incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows NT Server, and/or the Microsoft Exchange Server. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of raw mode can be solved. Use raw mode at your own risk. Always test changes to the schema on a testing or development Exchange Server.
