Platform SDK: Active Directory, ADSI, and Directory Services |
This topic is intended to familiarize you with programmatic access to the Microsoft® Exchange directory service using the Active Directory™ Service Interfaces (ADSI). It contains an introduction to the Exchange directory service and the Exchange schema, and an explanation about how to use ADSI to work with the Exchange directory service and schema. This topic assumes that you have basic knowledge of Visual Basic® and ADSI, as well as of Microsoft Exchange, in general.
Examples are given in Visual Basic. These can easily be adapted to the Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript) and used in Active Server Pages or with the Windows Script Host.
All of the examples in this guide are specific to Exchange Server version 5.5 and below, and are not upwardly compatible with Exchange 6.0. Management and access of Exchange 6.0 Servers should be made through the CDO Exchange Management interfaces instead.
