Active Directory™ enables you to control how the search is performed:

• Search Scope
• Synchronous vs. Asynchronous
• Paging
• Result Caching
• Sorting the Search Results
• Referral Chasing
• Size Limit
• Server Time Limit
• Client Time-Out
• Returning Only Attribute Names

To set these options, call IDirectorySearch::SetSearchPreference and specify the options as an array of ADS_SEARCHPREF_INFO structures.
