·New Tape Driver Model
The tape class/subclass driver model has been changed for greater modularity and portability.
Windows NT now provides an operating-system-specific tape class driver that implements generic tape operations and supports queuing, memory management, and communication with the system-supplied SCSI port driver. New tape-device support should be added as tape miniclass drivers, which can be portable across Microsoft operating systems. Old-style tape subclass drivers should be converted to miniclass drivers.
