The Computer You Want to Connect to Is Not Listed

If a computer on the network does not appear when you use the Browse dialog box in the pop-up interface or when you type net view at the MS-DOS command prompt, one of the following might be the cause:

• The computer might have been recently restarted. Wait a few minutes, and then try again.
• If a computer is part of another workgroup (not your own), you cannot use the Browse dialog box in the pop-up interface to display it. To see a list of computers in another workgroup, you must use the net view command with the /workgroup option at the MS-DOS command prompt.
