ActiveX control

In addition to the built-in controls that appear in the toolbox, Microsoft Access supports ActiveX controls. An ActiveX control, like a built-in control, is an object that you insert on a form, report, or data access page to enable or enhance a user's interaction with an application. The Calendar Control is an example of an ActiveX control.

Note In previous versions of Microsoft Access, ActiveX controls were also referred to as custom controls and OLE controls.
