format

Specifies how numbers, dates, times, and text are displayed and printed. A Microsoft Access database provides standard formats for the Number, Date/Time, and Yes/No data types, as does a Microsoft Access project for the equivalent SQL data types. You can also create a user-defined format by using formatting symbols. How the standard formats print and are displayed depends on the country specified in the Regional Settings section of the Microsoft Windows Control Panel. For example, when you are using the Currency format, 1234.56 is displayed as $1,234.56 when you are using the English (United States) regional setting, but it is displayed as £1,234.56 when you are using the English (British) regional setting.
