The default setting for the NewDatabaseSortOrder property. Sort order determines how characters are sorted in the entire database (tables, queries, reports, and so on). Use the General sort order if you plan to use a database with multiple language editions of Microsoft Access. Set the sort order on the General tab of the Options dialog box (Tools menu).
