System Management Server Package Definition Files

The sample package definition files (PDFs) can be used by the Microsoft Systems Management Server to install Office or Office applications remotely. PDFs are included for each of the Office 2000 product configurations, as well as for the standalone versions of Microsoft Access, Excel, FrontPage, Outlook®, PowerPoint®, Word, Publisher, and the MultiLanguage Pack.

Two versions of each PDF are included in the Microsoft Office 2000 Resource Kit—one version for SMS 1.2 and a second version for SMS 2.0. PDFs created for SMS 1.2 run in the SMS 2.0 product, but files created for SMS 2.0 reference features are not supported by SMS 1.2. Each PDF is accompanied by a respective INI file. The following table lists the PDFs included with the Office Resource Kit.

Additional PDF and SMS files for other applications will be made available through the Office Resource Kit Web site.
