The SMTP service is a component of Internet Information Server 4.0 and can only be installed on Windows NT Server. In other words, the SMTP service cannot be installed as part of Peer Web Services for Windows NT Workstation or the Personal Web Server for Windows 95.
Both the SMTP service and the SMTP documentation are installed as part of the minimum and typical installations.
