Microsoft Transaction Server is a component-based transaction processing system that allows developers to build, deploy, and administer robust network applications. In being component based, Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS) uses standard COM components to encapsulate business logic that forms applications. MTS provides a development framework so that components can be easily created that can participate in transactions. MTS also provides the environment of execution for these objects, along with a set of administrator tools to manage the deployment of the objects that make up these applications.
