While the technology for Microsoft’s Message Queue is well-tested and, dare I say it, stable, it is still a tad limited and not a bit confusing for the newcomer. So, to help at least partially demystify the terminology that MSMQ brings with it, I’ve jotted down its key terms below and documented my test setup for this chapter. This should help clarify the graphical representation of the system that we’ll come across in MSMQ Explorer very shortly.
