Structure of a Server Scriptlet File

A Server Scriptlet file is not an HTML file. In fact it doesn't contain the

<HTML>
tag or body. Nevertheless, it looks like a "traditional" HTML file. Moreover, it contains
<SCRIPT>
tags just like any "normal" HTML file. After all, a Server Scriptlet file is just a text given by a mix of script code and XML. XML is a kind of further evolution of HTML and is based on the same layout that is found behind the IE4 channels file (CDF—Channel Definition Format). XML is also used in the OSD format for Open Software Distribution. A complete reference guide for CDF and OSD may be found in our Professional IE4 Programming – ISBN 1-861000-70-7.

Before going into any more depth with the new tags just defined for Server Scriptlet, let's have a quick tour of the XML features.
