ActiveX Control Pad Features

ActiveX Control Pad supports several features that can help you develop interactive web pages, but ActiveX Control Pad cannot be considered a true IDE because it lacks such features as debugging support. ActiveX Control Pad is really just a development utility, but it is still a step forward in ActiveX web page development. The following features are supported by ActiveX Control Pad:

• The HTML Source Editor, which allows you to create and edit HTML code
  
  
• The ActiveX Control Editor, which allows you to insert ActiveX controls in a web page and set their properties
  
  
• The Script Wizard, which helps you create VBScript code
  
  
• The HTML Layout control, an ActiveX control that is installed with ActiveX Control Pad and renders HTML layouts
  
  
• The HTML Layout Editor, a two-dimensional WYSIWYG editor that allows you to create HTML layouts with multiple ActiveX controls
  
  
• Several new ActiveX controls for use in web pages

In the next few sections, you'll practice with several examples that demonstrate these major features of ActiveX Control Pad.
