Although no integrated debugging environment (IDE) is currently available for Microsoft Visual Basic, Scripting Edition, Microsoft has created several tools to assist VBScript developers. In previous chapters, we have discussed the ActiveX Control Lister, which is used to place ActiveX controls in a web page, and content development tools such as Microsoft FrontPage. In Chapter 4, you first saw a development tool called Microsoft ActiveX Control Pad, which allows you to integrate HTML code, ActiveX controls, HTML layouts, and VBScript or JavaScript code to create interactive web pages. In this project, we will discuss ActiveX Control Pad in detail and use it to construct an interactive order form for purchasing computer products online. This project is designed to simply show you how to use ActiveX Control Pad, so it isn't necessary to construct the files directly on the server. Before you begin the project, you'll take a look at the various features of ActiveX Control Pad and some examples of their use.
