What Is Message Queue Server?

Having seen what message queuing means in a general sense, we'll move on to look at how it is implemented in Microsoft Message Queue Server (MSMQ). To understand how MSMQ works, there are a couple of important points that you have to be clear about:

• Message Queuing is nothing to do with managing email, and the messages it uses are not email messages.
  
  
• The easiest way to appreciate how MSMQ works is to compare it with email.
