Exporting a Certificate

Exporting a certificate saves the certificate into a certificate chain file (.chn) that you can then supply to your trading partners. If the certificate is an exchange certificate, a trading partner can use the certificate to configure the EncryptPKCS component. If the selected certificate is a signature certificate, a trading partner can use the certificate to configure the VerifyDigitalSig component.

To export a certificate
  1. Click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Site Server, point to Commerce, and then click Certificate Management to display the Certificate Management Tool.
  2. Click Manage My Certificates.
  3. Click the certificate to export, and then click Export to Trading Partner.
  4. Specify a location and a file name for the .chn file, and then click Save.

The Certificate Management Tool exports the certificate to the specified file.
