Every driver must write event messages to the system event logger to give the system administrator enough information about why a driver is unable to work properly.
The event log needs an additional entry in the registry under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\System\SmartCardDriver
Note The registry path names never contain the extension of the file name. The EventMessageFile needs that extension.
