Unicode encoding

Unicode is a 16 bit character encoding standard, aligned with ISO 10646, that represents most of the characters used in general text interchange throughout the world. In TrueType fonts, characters for all scripts worldwide, including Far East scripts, should be encoded according to Unicode.
