Network Connectivity Options
Server management includes reconfiguring the Microsoft® SQL Server™ server network connections. Most of the time, you do not need to change the server network connections. You should only reconfigure the server connections if you have a special need, such as:
- Configuring SQL Server to listen on a particular network protocol.
- Using a proxy server to connect to SQL Server.
- Using a firewall system to isolate the network containing the SQL Server installation from the rest of the Internet.
