ProviderName Property (SQL-DMO)

The ProviderName property specifies the friendly, or as-registered, name of an OLE DB provider.

value String of up to 128 characters identifying an OLE DB provider

Remarks

An OLE DB provider registers itself with the operating system, providing, as part of registration, a friendly name. For example, the friendly name for the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server is SQLOLEDB.

Note SQL-DMO strings are always returned as OLE BSTR objects. A C/C++ application obtains a reference to the string. The application must release the reference by using SysFreeString.
