The OLAP Manager

Microsoft® SQL Server™ OLAP Services version 7.0 includes the OLAP Manager, a console application that provides a robust user interface for accessing OLAP servers and the metadata repositories that define multidimensional database structures. Use the OLAP Manager to:

• Specify databases and data sources
• Build and process cubes
• Specify storage options and optimize query performance
• Manage server security
• Browse your data sources, shared dimensions, and security roles
• Find links for third-party client applications, support resources, Help updates, and product news
• Obtain information about the complete SQL Server 7.0

The OLAP Manager’s HTML pane assists you in learning the concepts and terminology of online analytical processing (OLAP) as well as how to store and manage multidimensional data. It also includes a step-by-step tutorial on building and deploying an OLAP cube.
