Defining Data Sources in the ODBC Data Source Administrator

Microsoft® SQL Server™ OLAP Services supports OLE DB and ODBC data sources. If you are using only OLE DB data sources as input to OLAP Services, skip this procedure.

Before you start the OLAP Manager, ensure all ODBC data sources that will provide input to OLAP Services are defined in the ODBC Data Source Administrator.

To start the ODBC Data Source Administrator

  1. On your desktop click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click ODBC Data Sources.

For more information about the ODBC Data Source Administrator, refer to its Help.

Note Client administrators of OLAP Services must also define the same data sources on their computers.
