Roles are used to map Microsoft® Windows NT® user accounts and user groups to security category assignments for cubes.
Roles are created and managed at the database level. These can then be assigned to specific cubes within the database. You can use the Manage Roles dialog box to assign roles to a specific cube and specify the access privileges of the assigned roles as they apply to the cube.
