How to designate a fail-safe operator (Enterprise Manager)

To designate a fail-safe operator

1. Right-click SQL Server Agent; then click Properties.
2. In the SQL Server Agent Properties dialog box, click the Alert System tab.
3. Under Fail-safe operator, in the Operator list, click an operator.
4. Specify how the operator will be notified by clicking the appropriate notification type(s).
