Saving a Package to SQL Server

By default, the DTS package is saved in the sysdtspackages table in the Microsoft® SQL Server™ msdb database as BLOB (binary large object) data.

Versions of a SQL Server package can be saved. If a package has more than one version, you can display a version history of the package in SQL Server Enterprise Manager and open the version you want. If you omit the version selection step, the latest package version is opened.
